my standby perfume is hypnose by lancome -- but it's more of a fall or winter smell -- so in spring and summer I try to mix it up a bit and this year, i found my way back to bath n body. I had been on an unofficial boycott since they kept replacing all of my favorite finds there -- and now I can't even remember the names of them -- only that there was a pink one, a blue one and a green one I liked... and they don't make them anymore.

So I went with my friends Swessi over lunch and stocked up on some lotions -- cause let's face facts - winter was not kind to my skin and now I have some dry spots.

I picked up:

Wild honeysuckle
delicate orchid? or something with an orchid on it -- I can't find it at the moment, it might be at Dave's? or else it has entered the wonderful abyss of lost items.
Coconut Lime Verbena -- which I like at first, but then sometimes I smell vanilla in it and I get nauseous, one of the side effects vanilla has on me.
and finally
the Pomegranate number --
I like them all, I buy them all -- bad habit, yes, but on the other hand it had been some time since I made a trip to the B&B

Afterthought: coconut lime verbena -- can only be worn on days i know i won't see Dave, as his reaction to coconut is similar to my reaction to vanilla...

The honeysuckle is soft and airy but a little too powdery

so the orchid number and pomegranate are by far the two favorites out of the 4. just can't find the orchid one and the pomegranate is at work.

On the same note, for my birthday -- I bought myself some cute soaps from World Market -- Lemon, Lime and Orange -- for my love of all things citrus. Yes, this is perhaps the lamest birthday present I've ever got for myself but - I wasn't in a shopping mood and this is what I found.

I love new socks. I used to be addicted to buying them... or perhaps it was prior to my fondness for laundry - I just bought them to avoid washing them? Anyway, It's been a hobby for some time to buy new socks and there is nothing quite like the feel of new socks to brighten anyones day. My toes are happy --- "No one has sweat in these babies before!" is what I imagine they would say -- if feet could talk...

So I recently picked up a plethora of new socks -- came home from work plopped my bag on the table. When I returned to fetch my socks after running to the bathroom. My dad had already snooped in my new bag of socks -- (all's fair if it's left on the kitchen table I guess -- just glad I didn't have lube, batteries or a pregnacy test in there with my socks. haha) Well I go to get my socks -- and if you think I love doing laundry, I can't hold a candle to my dad. My dad was already getting a basket ready to wash my new socks -- he was tearing labels off -- snipping plastic fasners that hold the socks together, removing the metal clips on the fancier socks, and I ask him what he's doing -- he looks up and says, laundry.

I said: Oh you really don't have to, I'll wear them first and then you can wash them, wanting to take my socks back and evaluate my sock purchases -- see how cute they would match certain sweaters and pants -- usual sock addict stuff.

He replies: You can't wear them -- they were made in China -- they probably have lead in them I have to wash them first.

I said: Really, I don't think there is anything to worry about -- can I have my socks back? Were they even made in China? I look a couple of the cotton ones were...

He replies: Once I wash them and they are safe for you to wear.

I said: Fine, as he has already ripped all the socks from the packaging and unpaired them all and they are sitting disheveled in a basket --

The next day my socks are paired -- and rolled together in little balls in the basket.

Since then -- I've been missing random socks -- maybe they were sent to the lab for lead testing? I will never know.

So this weekend, on a partial whim, partial mental to-do list, I purchased a new toothbrush and upon the reconmendation of my friends Alice and Ava- I went with the sonicare. It's brushing on a new level - I'm greatly pleased with the results just from today's usage. My teeth felt smoother and looked cleaner. The pulsating will take some getting use to -- and I'm messier and have to remember to not wear my glasses when brushing. Some spittle went flying -- but these should improve with time.

I'll be the first to admit it -- I have some walls, I can be mushy and lovey and all that gooey junk, but I'm not exactly the vulnerable type.
I've always had some sort of guard up - the "I'm not going to let you in cause then you can hurt me later on, and then I'll want to hurt you, and I'm not that physically endowed to beat you to a bloody pulp and I just might hurt myself more in the process.." You know that one? Yeah, it's been an ol' stand by... Until now, I'm at this utmost vulnerable state -- and I'm 2/3 a.o.k with it and 1/3 scared. But, for the first time ever it's worth being scared, and I better stop now before I turn into a complete goober -- but yeah, I'm 2/3 sure I'm already gooberfied, and 1/3 scared of making you barf. So, I'll pause and post with out being extra goobery.
